HUD is sponsoring a national training for all grantees that receive Supportive Housing Program (SHP) funding for Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS) in Minneapolis, Minnesota on September 16-18, 2007. This training will provide HMIS grantees with an important opportunity to learn how HUD will monitor HMIS grants in the future. The training will specifically focus on grant administration for HMIS grantees with session topics that include the following:
- Fiscal management including match requirements and documentation;
- Cost estimation and allocation;
- HUD reporting; and
- Performance measurement of HMIS projects.
The goal of the training is to improve the capacity of HMIS grantees to effectively manage their projects and administer grants. The training will offer grantees the opportunity to learn first-hand the policies and procedures of grant administration for HMIS. All attendees will participate in a core track of HMIS grant administration topics. In addition, participants may choose from a set of institutes* in the following topic areas:
- The Annual Homeless Assessment Report (Sunday afternoon, September 16th);
- Program-level Performance Measurement using HMIS;
- Data Integration Strategies to Increase Coverage;
- System-level Performance Measurement using HMIS; and
- Risk Assessment using HMIS.
